Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department personnel will be wearing pink T-shirts between Oct. 26 - 29, to heighten community awareness of breast cancer. Firefighters and staff will wear the T-shirts as they respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls during the four days.
Thismonth is the 26th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with many other organizations joining the fight to eradicate this disease. At the 50th annual convention, the International Association of Firefighters approved a resolution encouraging participation in campaigns that honor women fighting cancer.
