Police: Man Cut, Airlifted to Hospital After House Party Scuffle

Officers and canine units searched for the party-crashing subject, who fled the scene. He's still at-large.

A house party in Herndon turned deadly Saturday night when a party-crasher cut a victim with a weapon, allegedly causing injuries serious enough to require an airlift to a local hospital.  

A spokesperson for the Herndon Police Department told Patch on Monday that a party was taking place at a home in the 1100 block of Treeside Lane when a group of unknown party-crashers showed up and tried to join in the fun.

"A fight broke out and one male subject at the party was cut with an unknown weapon," the officer said. "The injuries were serious enough that he had to be transported to the hospital."

A helicopter transported the victim to the hospital, and at last report, he was in stable condition.

The officer reported that the people hosting the party said they did not know the suspect. He's believed to be a man in his 20s.

Officers searched extensively for the fleeing suspect throughout the area, even employing the help of canine units, but said police were unable to locate him.

Herndon Patch readers said they saw and heard firetrucks and police in the area, which is close to Herndon Middle School, for hours Saturday night, and one reader reported seeing crime scene tape cordoning off a home in the 1100 block of Treeside Lane the next morning.
