UPDATE: Three Rob Herndon Business Armed With Guns

Three suspects robbed a downtown business with guns around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Three suspects entered a downtown Herndon business Sunday night and robbed the employees at gunpoint.

Police received a report of the robbery at 9:08 p.m. The business is located in the shopping center where Amphora's is located, in the 1100 block of Elden Street.

According to public information officer Lt. Jim Moore of the Town of Herndon Police Department, the suspects took cash.

Herndon Patch readers reported hearing helicopters hovering overhead in the area for quite some time that evening on our Facebook page and Twitter.

Lt. Moore said at this time, the department is unable to give any more detail as they are "actively running with the case."

Moore said more information may be available later this week or next.
