Two Arrests Made During DUI Checkpoint in Herndon Area

Police stopped more than 400 motorists Saturday night

Fairfax County Police conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the Herndon area on Saturday, June 4 at 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. 

Motorists were stopped and drivers were checked to make sure their ability to drive hadn't been impaired by alcohol or other substances.

Police stopped 426 motorists who passed through the checkpoint in the southbound lanes of Centreville Road near the intersection of Coppermine Road. Police made two arrests for driving while intoxicated and three summonses were issued for other traffic offenses.

Eight police officers and 10 auxiliary officers participated in the checkpoint.
