Search Continues for Laura McIntyre, Woman Missing From Herndon

Fairfax County police said Thursday investigators will canvass the areas near her home in Springfield and her last known whereabouts in Herndon.

The search continued Thursday for Laura McIntyre, 42, of Springfield, who went missing late Monday night from Herndon, where she works cleaning an office building in the Fox Mill Shopping Center.

Detectives were coming up with a “plan of action” Thursday morning, including continued canvassing of the Fox Mill Shopping Center as well as the area of the 5000 block of Cather Road in Springfield, where she lives, according to Fairfax County Police public information officer Don Gotthardt.

“At this point, we have no indication...this could be a simple misunderstanding, all the way to the worst possible scenario,” Gotthardt told Patch Thursday morning. “It’s a very broad spectrum right now.”

On Wednesday night, an investigation team went to the office building McIntyre was cleaning before her disappearance. Evidence gathered in that search is being processed, Gotthardt said.
