Police Searching for Motorcyclist Who Caused Herndon Woman to Fall Off Horse and Get Injured
Local woman was transported to the hospital.

Prince William County Police are searching for a motorcyclist who caused a Herndon woman to become injured after falling off her horse Sunday.
According to police, the motorcyclist apparently disregarded a designated horse crossing, purposely revved his engine and spooked a passing horse, causing it to knock the Herndon woman to the ground.
It happened Sunday at a horse crossing on Route 29 in Manassas National Battlefield Park, along the Fairfax/Prince William county line.
The injured rider, who asked not to be identified, said she and a group of other riders were almost all the way across the road when a motorcyclist passed five other stopped cars, crossed a double yellow line and revved the engine as he drove passed the horses.
One other rider was able to stay on her horse, but the Herndon woman fell off when the horse was forced to jump over some newly-laid rock on the side of the road, the injured woman said. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for whiplash and a sprained ankle and released.
A license plate or a description of the rider wasn't recorded, and police are asking riders and motorist to be vigilant.
Other horseback riders mentioned a recent encounter with a motorcyclist who drove between them as they were using the horse crossing and shouted that they "had no business there," the woman said.
Anyone with information about the Sunday, Sept. 1 incident is asked to call Prince William County Police and mention case number 13-155-981.
