Police Identify Man Who Fell To His Death From Roof of Herndon Building

The man was part of a crew hired to replace the building's roof, police said Tuesday.

Town of Herndon Police on Tuesday released the identity of a worker who fell 40 feet from the roof of a Herndon building last week to his death.

The worker has been identified as 38-year-old Pablo Aquino of Hyattsville, Md.

Public information officer Lt. Jim Moore said Aquino was employed by the company Orndorff and Spaid, Inc. that was completing a job at the building located at 950 Herndon Parkway last Monday, Oct. 14.

"He was part of a crew replacing the building's roof at the time of his tragic fall," Moore said.

Moore said a joint investigation with a Compliance Safety and Health Officer from The Department of Labor and Industry and the Herndon Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section determined that Aquino lost his footing and fell off the four-story building.

Herndon Police as well as Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews responded to the scene after receiving the call at 1:10 p.m. last Monday.

According to an emergency alert, they performed CPR on Aquino and transported him to a nearby hospital, but Aquino died from his injuries.
