Police officers from several agencies will be conducting extra saturation patrols in the area to detect and arrest drunk drivers starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday for Halloween.

Town of Herndon Police public information officer Lt. Jim Moore said local officers will be out conducting extra saturation patrols looking for drunk drivers between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday night on Halloween.

They're not the only ones. According to a recent news release, several local agencies including the City of Fairfax Police, Fairfax County Police, City of Falls Church Police, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, Town of Vienna Police, United States Park Police and the Virginia State Police will be involved in "Extra Eyes for DWIs" patrols around Halloween this year.

The program will saturate streets in different jurisdictions while law enforcement officers will "specifically target those who may be drinking and driving."
