Officer of the Year Honored by Herndon Police Department

Brian Hamilton instrumental in 2013 sexual predator arrest.

Senior Police Officer (SPO) Brian Hamilton was named 2013’s Officer of the Year by his peers.

Officer Hamilton began his career with the Herndon Police Department in 2002, and he is currently one of two graduates of the Virginia Department of Forensics Science Academy responsible for processing crime scenes.

SPO Hamilton was instrumental in the arrest of a sexual predator who was impersonating a police officer last year. He was responsible for the arrest of a subject who was committing armed robberies in Herndon and in Fairfax County. 

Additionally, SPO Hamilton was the lead crime scene technician in a homicide case where the husband ran over his wife with his car then committed suicide.

For his outstanding performance and dedication, SPO Hamilton was recognized on March 1, 2014 during the Annual Awards Banquette.
