Herndon Police Report: Subject Attempts to Shoplift Television

Someone attempted to shoplift a television from a business in the 400 block of Elden Street on Oct. 26.

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Oct. 22 through Oct. 28, 2012. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported their gas tank was siphoned between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 27 in the 700 block of Campbell Way. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• A 37-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault at 11:41 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 500 block of Early Fall Court.
• A 35-year-old Herndon woman was arrested for assault at 12:13 a.m. on Oct. 26 in the 1100 block of Treeside Lane.
• Two vehicles in the area were broken into and several items, including an iPod, iTouch, soccer gear, and CDs were reported stolen at 9:51 a.m. on Oct. 25 in the 800 block of Winterhaven Place.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 5:54 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area a 2:58 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 1200 block of Herndon Parkway. 

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 100 block of Elden Street.
• A subject attempted to shoplift a beverage, snacks and headphones from a business at 3:47 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject attempted to shoplift headbands from a business at 5:23 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject attempted to shoplift a television from a business at 12:51 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 50-year-old Herndon man was issued a summons for shoplifting at 6:06 p.m. on Oct. 27 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 27-year-old Herndon man was charged with trespassing and driving on a suspended license at 10:18 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 500 block of Aspen Drive.
• A 39-year-old Reston man was issued a summons for urinating in public and possession of false identification at 11:44 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 700 block of Grant Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported their two Romney campaign signs were stolen between 10 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 900 block of Monroe Street.
• A vehicle was entered between 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 23 and a GPS unit and a pair of sunglasses were reported stolen in the 1300 block of Dominion Ridge Lane.
• A purse and two bottles of hand soap were reported stolen from a display at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the 800 block of Grace Street.
• A package that was delivered to a residence was reported stolen a 6:36 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the 800 block of Branch Drive.
• A 31-year-old Falls Church man was arrested for being drunk in public at 1:38 a.m. on Oct. 25 in the 1000 block of Knight Lane.
• An 18-year-old Herndon man was arrested for gang participation and destruction of property at 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 26 near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Third Street. 

CENTER DISTRICT
• A 37-year-old Fairfax man was arrested for being drunk in public, trespassing and on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax City at 3:41 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A 54-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public and trespassing at 8:55 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 20-year-old Reston man was arrested for being drunk in public at 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 19-year-old Silver Spring, MD man was arrested for no operators license at 5:03 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the 1200 block of Herndon Parkway. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 19-year-old Bristow woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 1:12 a.m. on Oct. 28 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Campbell Way.
• A 47-year-old Herndon man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County at 9:02 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• A 25-year-old Reston woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County at 1:50 a.m. on Oct. 26 in the 100 block of Van Buren Street.
• A 24-year-old Fairfax woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County at 7:53 a.m. on Oct. 26 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• The Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Oct. 22-28: two incidents of reckless driving, one incident of driving under the influence, eight incidents of speeding, three incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and seven incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
