Herndon Police Report: Subject Attempts to Shoplift Seafood, Steak

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Dec. 3 to Dec. 9. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victims reported their residence was broken into between 6:40 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 5 and numerous items were stolen, including an Xbox, clothing, jewelry, a TV and cash, in the 500 block of Herndon Woods Court.
• A transmitter belonging to a telecommunications company was reported stolen at 12:04 p.m. Dec. 5 in the 700 block of Alabama Drive.
• The rear windshield and tire of a tow truck were damaged by a pick-axe at 11:19 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• The victim reported an unknown subject making unauthorized charges on their debit card at 12:41 a.m. Dec. 6 in the 700 block of Birch Court.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 11:25 a.m. Dec. 6 in the 1100 block of Freshrain Court.
• A 27-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 1000 block of Sterling Road.
• The victim reported a power company called stating his account was past due. He paid up the account and later found out it was a fraudulent phone call at 12:02 p.m. Dec. 5 in the 1100 block of Freshrain Court.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 6:49 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 500 block of Herndon Parkway.
• The victim reported the license plates stolen from their vehicle at 6:13 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 100 block of Laurel Way.
• Two juvenile subjects attempted to shoplift a case of Coors Light from a business at 11:08 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject attempted to shoplift seafood and steak from a business at 11:58 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 41-year-old Alpharetta, GA man was arrested for being drunk in public at 1:16 a.m. Dec. 7 in the 200 block of Elden Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• Two parking signs were reported damaged between 1 p.m. on Nov. 30 and 1 p.m. Dec. 8 in the 700 block of Bennett Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 5 in the 500 block of Worchester Street.

CENTER DISTRICT
• A 30-year-old Herndon man was arrested for attempted malicious wounding at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 3:49 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported being assaulted by a subject while walking through a parking lot at 4:03 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 21-year-old Gainesville man was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license at 12:08 a.m. Dec. 5 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 38-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 12:04 a.m. on Dec. 4 in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court.
• The victim reported an unknown subject making unauthorized purchases on their credit card at 5:46 p.m. Dec. 7 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 1:06 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.
• A noise complaint was reported at 11:19 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.
• An 18-year-old Dundalk, MD woman, two 18-year-old Herndon men, a 19-year-old Hyattsville, MD man, and a 21-year-old Herndon man were all issued summonses for contributing to the delinquency of a minor at 6:29 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 1000 block of Elden Street. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 25-year-old Herndon man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County at 8:21 p.m. Dec. 5 in the 300 block of Holly Court.
• Town of Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Dec. 3-9: one incident of reckless driving, 22 incidents of speeding, one incident of no operators license, two incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and two incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
• While attempting to make a left turn from Dulles Place onto Herndon Parkway, a vehicle was hit on the passenger side, causing it to roll onto its driver side where it came to rest. The driver of the striking vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was issued a summons for failing to pay full time and attention at 5:06 p.m. Dec. 6 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Dulles Place.
