Herndon Police Report: Shotgun Stolen From Unlocked Vehicle

Herndon Police reported that an unsecured vehicle was entered between on July 9 and an undisclosed amount of cash and a 12-guage shotgun were stolen in the 800 block of Dranesville Road.

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from July 9 through July 15, 2012. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• An unsecured vehicle was entered between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 10 and a GPS unit and backpack were reported stolen in the 13000 block of Worldgate Dr.
• An unsecured vehicle was entered between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 11 and an iPod, charger, tools and change were reported stolen in the 13000 block of Worldgate Dr.
• The victim reported their wallet was stolen from a locker between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 14 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Dr.
• A 20-year-old Dundalk, MD man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at 12:01 a.m. on July 10 in the 1200 block of Elden St.
• The window of a residence was damaged with a concrete drainage catch at 10:14 p.m. on July 9 in the 2100 block of Raven Tower Ct.
• A 34-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 10:25 p.m. on July 14 in the 2100 block of Highcourt Ln.
• A noise complaint was reported at 12:20 a.m. on July 11 in the 800 block of Sycamore Ct.
• A 35-year-old Herndon man was issued a summons for curse and abuse at 9:52 a.m. on July 15 in the 12000 block of Alton Sq. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• A residence was found to have been broken into, though nothing appeared to have been stolen, at 10:36 a.m. on July 15 in the 1100 block of Autumnhaze Ct.
• A 15-year-old Herndon teen was arrested for grand larceny (auto) and burglary at 12:16 a.m. on July 16 in the 1100 block of Dublin Pl. The teen also used a credit card that was stolen during the burglary to make unauthorized purchases at numerous businesses, which was reported at 11:46 a.m. on July 15 in the 1100 block of Dublin Pl.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 1:24 a.m. on July 15 in the 1200 block of Springtide Pl.
• An unsecured vehicle was entered between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 13 and a wallet and cell phone were reported stolen in the 1200 block of Herndon Pkwy. Later, it was discovered there were unauthorized charges made on a debit card that had been in the wallet. 
• The passenger side window of a parked vehicle was reported damaged at 5:37 p.m. on July 10 in the 500 block of Early Fall Ct.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted after an unknown subject threw a cup of coffee on them at 11:55 a.m. on July 9 near the intersection of Elden and Jackson streets.
• A 36-year-old Herndon man was arrested for trespassing at 10:12 p.m. on July 10 in the 400 block of Elden St.
• An 18-year-old McLean man was arrested for reckless driving and speeding to elude police at 12:07 a.m. on July 15 in the 200 block of Elden St.
• A subject passed a counterfeit $20 bill at a business at 4:03 p.m. on July 15 in the 300 block of Elden St. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The concession stand at a pool was reported broken into, though nothing was reported stolen, at 7 a.m. on July 13 in the 1100 block of Monroe St.
• An unsecured vehicle was entered between 12:01 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on July 9 and a GPS unit and two chargers were reported stolen in the 1000 block of Pembrook Ct.
• An unsecured vehicle was entered between 10 p.m. on July 8 and 8:30 a.m. on July 9 and an undisclosed amount of cash and a 12-guage shotgun were reported stolen in the 800 block of Dranesville Rd.
• The victim reported receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown subject at 10:16 a.m. on July 11 in the 900 block of Grant St.
• A noise complaint was reported at 11:40 p.m. on July 13 in the 1000 block of Park Aven.

CENTER DISTRICT
• A 37-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 10:32 p.m. on July 14 in the 1000 block of Alabama Dr.
• A 16-year-old Herndon teen was found to be in possession of marijuana at 7:06 p.m. on July 15.
• A 19-year-old Washington, D.C. man was issued a summons for destruction of property at 7:39 p.m. on July 11 in the 1200 block of Elden St.
• A trespassing was reported at 9:39 a.m. on July 10 in the 1100 block of Elden St.
• An 18-year-old Herndon woman was issued a summons for underage possession of alcohol at 2:36 a.m. on July 15 in the 1100 block of Elden St. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 28-year-old Manassas woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana at 4:22 a.m. on July 12 in the 900 block of Elden St.
• A 51-year-old Herndon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 11:28 p.m. on July 13 in the 700 block of Dranesville Rd.
• A 41-year-old Herndon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 11:53 p.m. on July 13 near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Third St.
• A 19-year-old Herndon man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Prince William County at 2:22 a.m. on July 9 in the 700 block of Center St.
• A 17-year-old Leesburg teen was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Loudoun County at 3:57 p.m. on July 14 in the 400 block of Elden St.
• The Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from July 9-15: three incidents of driving under the influence, 31 incidents of speeding, four incidents of no operators license, one incident of driving on a suspended or revoked license, and 11 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
