Herndon Police Report: Residence Broken Into on Florida Avenue

Herndon Police report a Florida Avenue residence was broken into and a laptop, backpack, iPod and Xbox 360 were stolen.

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Dec. 10 through Dec. 16, 2012. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported their residence was broken into between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and a laptop, backpack, iPod and Xbox 360 were reported stolen on Dec. 11 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• The victim reported their bicycle was stolen from outside their residence between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the 600 block of Center Street.
• The victim reported the windshield of their vehicle was damaged at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 near the intersection of Palmer Drive and Dogwood Court.
• The victim reported their vehicle was keyed at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11 near the intersection of Palmer Drive and Dogwood Court.
• The victim reported their vehicle’s tires were slashed between 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 15 in the 2100 block of Highcourt Lane. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 9:31 a.m. on Dec. 16 in the 1000 block of Sterling Road.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• An undisclosed amount of cash and coins as well as a money feed box were reported stolen from a soda machine inside a business at 8;17 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the 500 block of Huntmar Park Drive.
• A subject attempted to steal two pairs of earrings from a business at 3:01 p.m. on Dec. 13 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 41-year-old Woodstock man was arrested for possession of narcotics, eluding police, driving while intoxicated and driving on a revoked license at 2:03 a.m. on Dec. 14 in the 200 block of Elden Street.
• The locks to a business were glued so they were inoperable and roofing nails were strewn about in the parking lot at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 10 in the 600 block of Carlisle Drive.
• A 21-year-old Sterling man was arrested for being drunk in public at 2:03 a.m. on Dec. 14 in the 700 block of Tamarack Way.
• A 41-year-old Alpharetta, GA man was arrested for being drunk in public at 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 200 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported an acquaintance using their information when they’d previously received traffic summonses at 5:15 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the 300 block of Van Buren Street.
• A 41-year-old Alpharetta, GA man was arrested for trespassing at 3:23 a.m. on Dec. 15 in the 200 block of Elden Street.
• A 20-year-old District Heights, MD man was issued a summons for urinating in public at 11:16 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the 700 block of Grant Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• A 33-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault, resisting arrest and willfully preventing another person from summoning law enforcement at 10:04 p.m. on Dec. 16 in the 900 block of Jorss Place.
• A 23-year-old Reston woman was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at 9:22 p.m. on Dec. 14 near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Worchester Street.
• A 33-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 8:16 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the 800 block of Moffett Forge Road.
• The lock on a storage shed was reported damaged at 2:43 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.
• A 33-year-old Herndon man was arrested for unlawful entry and destruction of property at 1:22 a.m. on Dec. 12 in the 800 block of Moffett Forge Road.
• A pellet was found stuck in the bumper of a parked vehicle at 12:28 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 1100 block of Casper Drive.
• The victim reported their vehicle’s tires were slashed between 9 p.m. on Dec. 15 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 16 in the 900 block of Park Avenue.
• The victim reported an unknown subject used their information to open a Sears credit card at 9:38 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the 1200 block of Bicksler Court.
• A noise complaint was reported at 12:05 a.m. on Dec. 16 in the 1000 block of Tyler Street.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported their vehicle’s tires were slashed and the hood and trunk areas were keyed between 10 p.m. on Dec. 13 and 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court.
• The victim reported tow checks having been cashed from their bank account that they did not write at 9:54 p.m. on Dec. 13 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A trespassing was reported at 4:03 p.m. on Dec. 16 in the 1100 block of Elden Street. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 48-year-old Herndon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 12:11 a.m. on Dec. 15 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Reneau Way.
• The Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Dec. 10-16: one incident of driving under the influence, 24 incidents of speeding, five incidents of driving on a suspended or revoked license, and three incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
