Herndon Police Report: Mob Attacks Woman

Incidents from the Herndon Police Department logs from April 1-7. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Susan A. Aguilar, a 35-year-old woman from Herndon, was arrested last week after she allegedly initiated a mob attack on another woman.

According to Lt. Jim Moore, the victim told police she was first assaulted by the suspect in the 400 block of Elden Street.

After the fight began, "her friends all got into it and assaulted the victim," Moore said.

The victim was only able to identify the one female offender who allegedly initiated the fight.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and assault by mob.

The Herndon Police Department reported the other following incidents from April 1 to 7.

CENTER DISTRICT

April 2 - DUI

A 20-year-old man from Woodbridge was arrested for driving while intoxicated, in the 1400 block of Sterling Road.

April 5 - Child Neglect

Damaris E. Mendoza Melendez,21, of Sterling, was arrested for child neglect in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court.

April 5 - DUI

A 30-year-old Reston man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, in the 300 block of Elden Street.

April 5 - Possession of Alcohol by a Minor/Driving Without a License

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on multiple charges in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive. The teen is accused of possessing an open container of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, driving without a license, and possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age.

April 5 - Counterfeit

A resident of the 1000 block of Elden Street reported a counterfeit check was deposited into his/her bank account.

April 6/7 - Larceny

A vehicle was broken into sometime between 6 p.m. April 6 and 11:24 a.m. April 7. Tools and an iPhone were stolen. The car had been parked in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.

April 2 - Burglary

 A residence in the 1000 block of Charles Street was reportedly broken into, sometime between 6:40 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. An undisclosed amount of cash was reportedly stolen. 

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT

April 1 - Assault

A victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance, in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.

April 1 - Miscellaneous

The window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Herndon Parkway was smashed.

April 3 - Larceny

A resident of the 300 block of Elden Street reported her license plates were stolen off her vehicle.

April 3 - Fraud

A resident of the 900 block of Herndon Parkway reported unauthorized charges to his/her credit card.

April 3 - Drunk in Public

A 33-year-old Reston man was arrested for being drunk in public, in the 400 block of Elden Street.

April 4 - Drunk in Public

A 31-year-old Falls Church man was arrested for being drunk in public in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.

April 4 - Burglary

Multiple pieces of jewelry were stolen sometime between 5:20 and 9:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Herndon Mill Circle.

April 7 - Underage Drinking

Two 20-year-old men from Great Falls and Sterling were issued summons for underage possession of alcohol.

BRUIN DISTRICT

April 2 - Drug Violation

A 25-year-old Herndon man was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 12000 block of Alton Square.

April 2 - Fraud

A resident of the 400 block of Pickett Lane reported unauthorized transactions on his/her credit card.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT

April 1 - Larceny

A resident of the 1000 block of Sterling Road reported his/her license plates were stolen from his/her vehicle.

April 4 - Drug Violation

A 23-year-old man from Sterling was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.

April 5 - Drug Violation

A 61-year-old man from Ashburn was arrested for possession of marijuana.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT

April 1 - Destruction of Property

Graffiti was reported in the area of the 400 block of Madison Avenue.

April 4 - Destruction of Property

Graffiti was reported in the area of the 700 block of Huntsman Place.
