Herndon Police Report: Mitt Romney Campaign Signs Damaged

The reported the following incidents between Sept. 3 and Sept. 9, 2012. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.  

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported that an unknown subject entered their residence between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sept 9 and stole two Apple MacBook Pro laptops.
• A 23-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault and drunk in public at 3:27 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 700 block of Herndon Woods Court.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 6:04 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 600 block of Center Street.
• The victim reported their unsecured vehicle was entered between 9 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 and a GPS unit and a spare key were reported stolen in the 12000 block of Alton Square.
• The victim reported an unknown subject stole their iPhone 4S from inside a movie theater at 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• A 21-year-old Herndon man was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license at 11:26 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the 800 block of Alabama Drive.
• The victim reported sending an undisclosed amount of money to a subject in order to receive a portion of a fraudulent inheritance at 2:58 p.m. on Sept. 4 in the 12000 block of Alton Square.
• The victim reported two subjects using their Social Security number for employment purposes at 9:48 a.m. on Sept. 5 in the 600 block of Alabama Drive.
• A noise complaint was reported at 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 700 block of Alabama Drive. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the 1100 block of Treeside Lane.
• The victim reported an acquaintance broke picture frames inside their residence at 2:08 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 500 block of Early Fall Court.
• A noise complaint was reported at 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 1300 block of Springtide Place.
• A noise complaint was reported at 10:32 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 1200 block of Sunrise Court. 

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• The victim reported being approached by two unknown subjects who demanded money at 11:11 p.m. on Sept. 9 near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Aspen Drive. The victim was assaulted by the subjects, who fled on foot in an unknown direction.
• A juvenile subject attempted to shoplift a pregnancy test from a business at 5:54 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 31-year-old Herndon man was arrested for possession of cocaine, driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid operators license, and providing false information to law enforcement at 12:16 a.m. in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.
• A 32-year-old Reston woman was arrested for being drunk in public at 1:46 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the 300 block of Elden Street.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 7:59 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the 400 block of Van Buren Street.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 1:08 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.
• The victim reported an acquaintance cashed a fraudulent check they’d written out to themselves at 11:37 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the 300 block of Herndon Parkway.
• A 28-year-old Vienna man was arrested for failing to obey lane markings, driving without a license and resisting arrest at 10:07 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the 700 block of Elden Street.
• A trespassing was reported at 6:52 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported an iPhone was stolen from inside a residence at 9:34 a.m. on Sept. 9 in the 800 block of Park Avenue.
• The victim reported their Mitt Romney campaign signs were damaged between 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 700 block of Dranesville Road. 

CENTER DISTRICT
• A 32-year-old Herndon man was arrested for abduction, assault and drunk in public at 10:03 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an unknown subject at 10:16 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an unknown subject at 6:03 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the 1100 block of Herndon Parkway.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:31 a.m. on Sept. 8 in the 1200 block of Wilshire Drive. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 31-year-old Chantilly man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 12:57 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A 39-year-old Reston man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 2:08 a.m. on Sept. 6 in the 300 block of Elden Street.
• A 17-year-old Reston man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County on 10:41 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 26-year-old Manassas man was arrested for credit card theft after a July 2012 larceny from a vehicle in which two credit cards were stolen and fraudulently used to make several purchases at 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 5 in the 500 block of Pride Avenue.
• Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Sept. 3-9: one incident of reckless driving, three incidents of driving under the influence, four incidents of no operators license, 33 incidents of speeding, five incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and nine incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
