Herndon Police Report - March 28 to April 3

Multiple incidents in this week's report involved shooting

Town of Herndon Police reported the following incidents from March 28, 2011 through April 3, 2011:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim returned to their residence to find it had been burglarized and several electronic items were stolen from the residence at 2:50 p.m. on March 31 in the 600 block of Nash Street. A 16-year-old Herndon male was identified as the offender, all property was recovered and charges are pending.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:32 a.m. on March 29 in the 300 block of Cherry Court.
• The victim reported a metal bending machine was stolen from their vehicle between 8:30 p.m. on March 29 and 8 a.m. on March 30 near the intersection of Palmer Drive and Dogwood Court.
• A subject was observed flattening the tires of parked vehicles in a parking lot at 9:41 p.m. on April 1 in the 2100 block of Raven Tower Court.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported their vehicle was broken into between 5 p.m. on March 27 and 10 a.m. on March 28 and a GPS unit was stolen in the 500 block of Early Fall Court.
• The victim reported two puppies were stolen from the yard of their residence at 2:30 p.m. on April 1 in the 1300 block of Springtide Place.
• The victim reported a subject cashing fraudulent checks from their business account at 1:05 p.m. on March 29 in the 1000 block of Sterling Road.
• Tamrin Siro, 26, of Herndon, was issued a summons for alleged drinking while driving and littering at 3:40 p.m. on March 31 in the 1200 block of Sterling Road.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• Bobby Mozingo, 64, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault at 2:24 p.m. on March 30 in the 400 block of Herndon Parkway.
• A juvenile subject attempted to shoplift two DVDs from a business at 7:02 p.m. on march 28 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported a subject stealing and undisclosed amount of money from their purse at 4:23 p.m. on April 1 in the 400 block of Elden Street. The money was later returned.
• Nga Khoung, 51, of Herndon, was issued a citation for alleged shoplifting at 2:50 p.m. on April 2 in the 400 block of Elden Street.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• Derrick Decker, 42, of Reston, was arrested for alleged assault at 10:07 p.m. on March 30 in the 600 block of Center Street.
• The victim received non life threatening gunshot wounds by a subject who fled the scene at 1:06 a.m. on March 31 in the 1100 block of Tway Lane.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim returned to their residence to find it had been entered unlawfully and a television and DVD player and their vehicle were stolen, at 6:30 p.m. on March 28 in the 1000 block of Lexus Way. The vehicle was recovered and Fahad Akib, 18, of Herndon, was arrested and charged with alleged burglary and grand larceny.
• The victim reported an unknown subject shot at their vehicle between 11 p.m. on April 2 and 11:10 a.m. on April 3 in the 1300 block of Dulles Place.
• Jose Martinez, 24, of Herndon, was arrested for possession of marijuana at 8:59 p.m. on April 2 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A subject was attempting to pick up a fraudulent prescription from a business at 2:16 p.m. on April 28 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.

OTHER INCIDENTS
•  Jose Martinez, 24, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged malicious wounding stemming from an aggravated assault case on January 1, 2011.
• Herndon police reported two incidents of reckless driving, six incidents of speeding, eight incidents of no operators license, four incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license and four incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
