Herndon Police Report - March 21-27

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from March 21-27, 2011. To view the incidents in a Google map format, follow this link:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 7:03 p.m. on March 25 in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue.
• The victim reported their vehicle stolen at midnight on March 23 in the 300 block of Holly Court. The vehicle was recovered in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Elden Street two days later.
• Several parked vehicles were found to have windows damaged in the area at 12:30 a.m. on March 21 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 8:52 a.m. on March 23 in the 600 block of Oak Street.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported their residence was broken into between 8:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on March 22 and a computer, television and cell phone were stolen in the 1100 block of Autumnhaze Court.
• The victim reported their residence was broken into between 9 a.m. on Feb. 24 and 4 p.m. on March 24 and jewelry was stolen in the 1500 block of Summerset Place.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 11:05 a.m. on March 22 in the 1000 block of Crestview Drive.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• Joann Slaton, 40, of Reston, was issued a summons for alleged shoplifting at 5:11 p.m. on March 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Natonya Mitchell, 25, of Washington, D.C., was issued a summons for alleged larceny at 1:07 p.m. on March 23 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Doris Flores, 38, of Herndon, was issued a summons for alleged shoplifting at 3:13 p.m. on March 25 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Engy Shawky, 19, of Centreville, was issued a summons for alleged larceny at 11:17 a.m. on March 24 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Patricia Johnson, 51, of Purcellville, was issued a summons for alleged larceny at 11:54 a.m. on March 27 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Patrick Huber, 30, of Great Falls, was arrested for alleged destruction of commercial property at 6:08 a.m. on March 22 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 7:34 a.m. on March 22 near the intersection of Van Buren Street and Coral Road.
• The victim reported unknown subjects threw soda on their deck at 8:30 p.m. on March 24 in the 100 block of Herndon Mill Circle.
• Todd Griffith, 43, of Berryville, was arrested for alleged prescription fraud on March 23 in the 600 block of Elden Street.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 11:25 p.m. on March 21 in the 1300 block of Monroe Street.
• Steven James, 27, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault at 11:37 p.m. on March 21 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street.
• The victim reported their hammock stolen from the back yard of their residence at 12:26 p.m. on March 22 in the 1100 block of Burwick Court.
• The victim reported their motorcycle trailer had been damaged with spray paint at 4:15 p.m. on March 22 in the 900 block of Ferndale Avenue.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported the theft of his jacket and wallet by two subjects at 1:09 a.m. on March 25 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.
• Two juvenile subjects were found spray painting graffiti on a pool house at 2:10 p.m. on March 27 in the 1200 block of Wilshire Drive.
• Armando Ramos Lemus, 40, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged drunk in public at 5:11 p.m. on March 25 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A subject shoplifted a bottle of liquor from a business at 7:12 p.m. on March 24 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.

OTHER INCIDENTS
• Town of Herndon Police reported two incidents of reckless driving, 14 incidents of speeding, one incident of no operators license, and 17 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
