Herndon Police Report: Man Cited for Running Illegal Boarding House

A Herndon man was issued a citation for running an illegal boarding house on Feb. 7 in the 1400 block of Rainbow Court.

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Feb. 4-10, 2013. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by acquaintances at 6:46 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 12000 block of Alton Square.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 7:06 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• The victim reported yard ornaments and security signs were stolen from the yard of their residence between noon on Feb. 3 and 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 300 block of Missouri Avenue.
• The victim reported their yard ornament was damaged between noon on Feb. 3 and 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 300 block of Missouri Avenue.
• A noise complaint was reported at 10:59 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the 2200 block of Westcourt Lane. 

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported their mailbox was damaged between noon and 3:38 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the 1200 block of Sterling Road.
• The victim reported an unauthorized charge to their checking account at 10:34 a.m. on Feb. 5 in the 1100 block of Arctic Quill Road.
• A vehicle that was located in Fairfax County was found to have been stolen from an address in the 1100 block of Freshrain Court between 12:01 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Feb. 6.
• A 67-year-old Herndon man was issued a citation for running an illegal boarding house at 9:21 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the 1400 block of Rainbow Court.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• A 24-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault at 4:12 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 500 block of Grove Street.
• A subject stole two pairs of eyeglasses from a business at 3:33 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 700 block of Pine Street.
• An 18-year-old Herndon man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol at 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 100 block of Spring Street. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by two subjects at 3 p.m. on Feb. 4 near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Madison Forest Drive.
• A 49-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault at 12:28 a.m. on Feb. 10 in the 800 block of Moffett Forge Drive.
• Witnesses reported two subjects engaged in a physical altercation at 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 10 at a location in the 600 block of Spring Street, however both suspects were gone by the time police arrived.
• The victim reported their purse was stolen at an unknown time at 11:36 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 400 block of Woodshire Lane.
• Graffiti was found in the area at 5:04 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 900 block of Branch Drive.
• A road sign was found to have been damaged at 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 7 near the intersection of Ferndale Avenue and Burwick Drive.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 1:53 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 800 block of Branch Drive.

CENTER DISTRICT
• A 35-year-old Herndon man was arrested for destruction of property and disorderly conduct at 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A 38-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 5:02 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A 54-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 8:08 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• A 47-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public at 11:31 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the 1100 block of Cypress Tree Place. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 33-year-old Ashburn man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 12:56 a.m. on Feb. 8 in the 800 block of Elden Street.
• A 42-year-old Miami, FL woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Montgomery County, PA at 1:29 a.m. on Feb. 5 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• An 18-year-old Herndon woman was arrested for no operators license, speeding to elude law enforcement and reckless driving on Feb. 4, after an accident that took place at 7:15 a.m. on Jan. 8 near the intersection of Dranesville Road and Wiehle Avenue.
• Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Feb. 4-10: three incidents of reckless driving, one incident of driving under the influence, 63 incidents of speeding, two incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and 46 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
