Herndon Police Report - June 20-26

Police reported that a number of cars were broken into recently, and a pair of jeans were shoplifted

The Herndon Police reported the following incidents from June 20-26, 2011:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being sexually assaulted by an acquaintance at 8:23 p.m. on June 23.
• A vehicle was entered between 9:15 p.m. on June 21 and 8 a.m. on June 22 and a GPS unit was reported stolen in the 500 block of James Cirone Way.
• A vehicle was entered between 9:15 p.m. on June 21 and 6:16 p.m. on June 22 and a wallet was reported stolen in the 500 block of Legacy Pride Drive. A credit card from the wallet was then used to make unauthorized purchases.
• The windshield of a parked vehicle was reported damaged between 7 p.m. on June 21 and 7:30 a.m. on June 22 in the 600 block of Center Street.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The side mirrors on several parked vehicles were found to be damaged at 2:17 a.m. on June 22 in the 1100 block of Dublin Place.
• A Verizon utility box was reported vandalized between 2 a.m. on 3:40 a.m. on June 22 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Bayshire Lane.
• The trunk of a parked vehicle was reported damaged between 8 p.m. on June 21 and 7:49 a.m. on June 22 in the 1100 block of Autumnhaze Court.
• A Comcast cable utility box was found vandalized at 7:43 a.m. on June 22 in the 1000 block of Jeff Ryan Drive.
• A trespassing was reported at 5:14 p.m. on June 22 in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue.
• Hector Sanchez, 33, of Herndon, was issued a summons for alleged drinking in public at 11:29 p.m. on June 22 in the 1000 block of Sterling Road.
• A noise complaint was reported at 3:35 p.m. on June 23 in the 1400 block of Bluemont Court.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• A subject reportedly shoplifted a bottle of champagne from a business at 6:48 p.m. on June 20 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Two juvenile subjects attempted to shoplift numerous items from a business at 3:44 p.m. on June 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A subject shoplifted a pair of jeans from a business at 5:42 p.m. on June 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Katie Cupido, 19, of Herndon, Julissa Alfaro, 18, of Reston, and Jennyfer Alfaro, 19 of Reston, were issued summonses for alleged shoplifting at 9:07 p.m. on June 22 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Kevin Gardner, 50, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged larceny at 1:46 a.m. on June 24 in the 400 block of Elden Street.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:31 a.m. on June 23 in the 1000 block of Saber Lane.
• Elden Roberson, 19, of Reston, and Giovanny Jimenez, 18, of Herndon, were issued summonses for alleged possession of marijuana at 10:34 p.m. on June 23 in the 900 block of Park Avenue.
• A package was reported stolen from the front porch of a residence between noon and 5 p.m. on June 13 in the 600 block of Old Hunt Way.
• The victim reported their front license plate was stolen between 3 p.m. on June 21 and 10:23 a.m. on June 22 in the 900 block of Branch Drive.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 9 a.m. on June 23 near the intersection of Center Street and the W&OD Trail.

CENTER DISTICT
• A vehicle was entered and a laptop was reported stolen at 11:18 a.m. on June 20 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported their iPhone was stolen from inside a business between 4 p.m. ad 4:30 p.m. on June 21 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• A subject ordered food and drinks from a business and did not have the money to pay the bill at 2:05 a.m. on June 23 in the 1100 block of Elden Street.
• Luis Molina, 38, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged drunk in public at 11:47 a.m. on June 23 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• Luis Molina, 38, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged drunk in public at 4:58 p.m. on June 21 in the 1100 block of Alabama Drive.
• The victim reported wiring money to a subject after receiving threats against them at 3:57 p.m. on June 15 in the 1200 block of Alabama Drive.

OTHER INCIDENTS
• Town of Herndon reported the following traffic incidents from June 20-26: one incident of reckless driving, 20 incidents of speeding, four incidents of no operators license, three incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and 10 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
