Herndon Police Report - July 4-10

Town of Herndon Police reported the following incidents from July 4 through July 10, 2011:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 11:52 p.m. on July 4 in the 600 block of Herndon Parkway.
• Jose Hernandez Montes, 49, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault at 10:07 p.m. on July 7 in the 700 block of Birch Court.
• The victim reported the cable line leading to their residence was stolen between 11 a.m. and 1:58 p.m. on July 7 in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an unknown subject at 11:07 p.m. on July 8 in the 1100 block of Crestview Drive.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• A subject attempted to shoplift tanning location from a business at 4:40 p.m. on July 9 in the 300 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported unauthorized charges on their credit card at 9:30 a.m. on July 5 in the 700 block of Cordell Way.
• A vendor was selling items without proper permits at 5:57 p.m. on July 10 in the 300 block of Van Buren Street.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• Carl Mitchell, 60, of Herndon was arrested and charged with alleged possession of child pornography and  alleged production of child pornography at 4:42 a.m. on July 4 in the 1300 block of Grant Street.
• A juvenile subject was charged with assault on an acquaintance at 6:05 p.m. on July 9 in the 1000 block of Boros Court.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 2:54 p.m. on July 8 in the 1300 block of Grant Street.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 6:26 p.m. on July 9 in the 1000 block of Charles Street.
• The victim reported their town decal stolen from their vehicle at 5 p.m. on July 5 in the 900 block of Park Avenue.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 9:05 a.m. on July 5 in the 500 block of Dranesville Road.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by three unknown subjects at 3:35 a.m. on July 4 in the 800 block of Alabama Drive.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 4:30 p.m. on July 7 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• Jose Armando Ramos, 41, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged drunk in public, and was issued a summons for alleged urinating in public at 11:54 a.m. on July 7 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• Marin Ramos, 25, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged drunk in public at 7:24 p.m. on July 9 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.

OTHER INCIDENTS
• Dagoberto Torres Yataco, 44, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged driving while intoxicated at 9:42 p.m. on July 4 near the intersection of Elden and Monroe streets.
• Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from July 4-10: one incident of driving under the influence; 30 incidents of speeding; six incidents of no operators license; three incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license; and 32 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
