Herndon Police Report - July 25-31

Police reported items stolen from a number of cars left unlocked

Herndon Police reported the following incidents from July 25-31, 2011:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by acquaintances at 8:42 a.m. on July 30 in the 500 block of Florida Avenue.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:09 a.m. on July 31 in the 600 block of Alabama Drive.
• A subject left a restaurant without paying their entire bill at 11:42 p.m. on July 27 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• Three unlocked vehicles were entered and change and a checkbook were reported stolen at 6:57 a.m. on July 27 in the 700 block of Herndon Woods Court.
• The victim reported an unknown subject stole her laptop from her possession and fled the area at 5:22 p.m. on July 27 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• Jackson Fuentes Armando, 21, of Reston, was issued a summons for alleged trespassing at 10:02 p.m. on July 28 in the 700 block of Palmer Drive.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported their golf bag was stolen from outside the clubhouse at 7:45 p.m. on July 24 in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue.
• A utility box was reported damaged at 1:40 p.m. on July 26 in the 800 block of Ferndale Avenue.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• Latroy Shelton, 35, of Fairfax, was arrested for alleged assault at 3:28 p.m. on July 26 in the 100 block of Laurel Way.
• The victim reported a larceny of an undisclosed amount of money at 1:13 p.m. on July 25 in the 600 block of Elden Street.
• Maria Portillo, 43, of Herndon, was issued a summons for alleged larceny at 2:45 p.m. on July 30 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported an unknown subject making unauthorized purchases on their debit card at 9:51 a.m. on July 28 in the 400 block of Elden Street.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• A trespassing was reported at 6:20 a.m. on July 28 in the 1300 block of Monroe Street.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted while attempting to stop a juvenile subject from shoplifting beer from a business at 4:32 p.m. on July 28 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported locating their stolen bicycle chained up to a tree at 7:47 p.m. on July 27 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported two subjects stole his wallet and watch and fled the scene at 12:32 p.m. on July 31 in the 1400 block of Sterling Road.
• The victim reported their motorcycle had been knocked over at 8:45 p.m. on July 25 in the 1100 block of Cypress Tree Place.
• Javier Hernandez Perez, 23, of Herndon, was arrested for allegedly providing false identification to law enforcement at 10:51 p.m. on July 26 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported having a check of their fraudulently cashed at 6:02 p.m. on July 31 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.

OTHER TRAFFIC INCIDENTS
• Christine Oelschlager, 43, of Reston, was arrested for alleged driving while intoxicated at 10:44 p.m. on July 27 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• victor Morales Roman, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested for alleged driving while intoxicated at 2:14 a.m. on July 31 in the 600 block of Elden Street.
• David Mejia, 36, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged driving while intoxicated at 3:41 a.m. on July 27 near the intersection of Elden and Van Buren streets.
• Herndon police reported the following traffic incidents: one incident of reckless driving, three incidents of driving under the influence, 35 incidents of speeding, one incident of no operators license, two incidents of driving on a suspended or revoked license, and 10 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
