Herndon Police Report - Aug. 22-28

Herndon Police reported the following incidents from Aug. 22 through Aug. 28, 2011:

BRUIN DISTRICT
• Graffiti was reported found on a sign at 1:40 p.m. on Aug 22 in the 700 block of Palmer Drive.
• An employee left with money belonging to the business at 11:39 p.m. on Aug. 27 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• A victim reported that someone entered a vehicle, opened a garage door and entered a home. A GPS, video camera and purse were reported missing from the home at 10 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the 700 block of Tamani Drive.
• A hubcap on a vehicle was reported scratched at 9:16 p.m. on Aug 22 in the 500 block of Early Fall Court.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• Arulanadan Rangaraju, 31, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault and interfering with a 9-1-1 call at 9:31 a.m. on Aug. 26 in the 100 block of Laurel Way.
• An officer observed a subject running in the area with a shotgun at 11:26 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the 700 block of Van Buren Street. It was determined to be an air soft gun. Several subjects were located in the area and identified and the investigation is continuing.

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• A juvenile consumed alcohol. He was released to a guardian at 8:12 p.m. on Aug. 26 in the 700 block of Center Street.

CENTER DISTRICT
• A victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:23 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• Rene Escamilla-Mejia, 42, of Herndon, was arrested for alleged assault and brandishing at 9:12 p.m. on Aug 27 in the 1200 block of Alabama Drive.

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A Hanover County warrant was served on Jeral Bowman Jr., 20, of Herndon, for alleged failure to appear, at 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the 700 block of Barbara Lynn Place.
• Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Aug. 22-28, 2011: one incident of reckless driving, 27 incidents of speeding, seven incidents of no operators license, three incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license; and 60 incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
