Herndon Police Report: Airbags Reported Stolen

Herndon Police reported three incidents of airbags being stolen from cars from Dec. 24-30.

The Herndon Police Department reported the following incidents from Dec. 24 through Dec. 30, 2012. The following information was supplied by the Herndon Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

BRUIN DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:13 a.m. on Dec. 28 in the 2100 block of Highcourt Lane.
• A vehicle was broken into between 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 26 and the airbag was reported stolen in the 2100 block of Wordsworth Court.
• A vehicle was broken into between 5 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 26 and the airbag was reported stolen in the 12000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• A vehicle was broken into between 10 p.m. on Dec. 25 and 7:10 p.m. on Dec. 26 and the airbag was reported stolen in the 2100 block of Wilkes Court.
•  A vehicle was entered between 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 and an attempt to remove the stereo system was made but no property was stolen in the 12000 block of Worldgate Drive.
• A subject was found to be sleeping in a hotel room they had not paid for at 10:14 p.m. on Dec. 26 in the 13000 block of Worldgate Drive.

GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 12:36 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 700 block of Morningside Court.
• A 22-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault at 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 30 in the 1300 block of Springtide Place.
• Three subjects were observed entering unlocked vehicles at 3:36 a.m. on Dec. 30 in the 1200 block of Springtide Place. A jacket was reported stolen from one of the vehicles.
• A vehicle was entered between 5 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 10:31 a.m. on Dec. 30 and a radar detector and change were reported stolen in the 1200 block of Springtide Place.
• The victim reported the rear windshield of their vehicle was damaged at 3:03 a.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1200 block of Sterling Road.
• A 38-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested for being drunk in public at 1:27 a.m. on Dec. 25 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Elden Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 11:28 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 1200 block of Sunrise Court.

HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
• A subject attempted to shoplift earrings from a business at 3:19 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• Two subjects shoplifted groceries from a business at 6:37 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 400 block of Elden Street.
• A parked vehicle was found to have the windshield, headlights, windows and tires damaged at 7 a.m. on Dec. 24 in the 100 block of Spring Street.
• A trespassing was reported at 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 500 block of Aspen Drive. 

RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 3:57 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the 900 block of Branch Drive.
• A vehicle was entered between 8:39 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 8:39 p.m. on Dec. 29 and an audio book was reported stolen in the 600 block of Third Street.
• Graffiti was reported found in the area at 10:57 p.m. on Dec. 28 near the intersection of Grace Street and the W&OD Trail.
• A noise complaint was reported at 10:56 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the 900 block of Branch Drive.
• A noise complaint was reported at 5:39 p.m. on Dec. 27 in the 1100 block of Burwick Drive.

CENTER DISTRICT
• The victim reported a potential buyer of their laptop threatened them with a gun before leaving the area on foot with the laptop at 6:55 p.m. on Dec. 27 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported being assaulted by four subjects at 3:01 a.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1000 block of Alabama Drive.
• The victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance at 6:51 a.m. on Dec. 30 in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court.
• A 22-year-old Herndon man was arrested for larceny, disorderly conduct and for being drunk in public at 5:01 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported that a bag of their personal belongings was stolen from the customer services desk of a business at 11:44 a.m. on Dec. 26 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• The victim reported their wallet stolen from inside a business at 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 29 in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
• A 20-year-old Herndon man was arrested for being drunk in public and disorderly conduct at 7:49 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 3:47 a.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
• A noise complaint was reported at 5:23 a.m. on Dec. 25 in the 600 block of Elden Street.
• A 37-year-old Fairfax man was arrested for trespassing at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 29 in the 1200 block of Elden Street. 

OTHER INCIDENTS
• A 36-year-old Herndon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 1:52 a.m. on Dec. 30 in the 800 block of Elden Street.
• Herndon Parkway was partially closed due to a two-car accident with one car running into a telephone pole. One subject was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The incident happened at 3:02 p.m. on Dec. 30 near the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Palmer Drive.
• A 19-year-old Burke man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Fairfax County at 10:25 p.m. on Dec. 28 in the 400 block of Herndon Parkway.
• A 43-year-old Herndon woman was arrested at 9:19 p.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1200 block of Elden Street for intentional damage to property after breaking a window at a bank on Nov. 28. She was also arrested due to an outstanding warrant out of Washington, DC.
• The Herndon Police reported the following traffic incidents from Dec. 24-30: one incident of driving under the influence, 11 incidents of speeding, one incident of no operators license, four incidents of driving while on a suspended or revoked license, and two incidents of expired or no Town of Herndon sticker.
