Herndon Police Honored for Excellence in the Community and Public Safety

Three Herndon officers were recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Fairfax Alcohol Safety Action Program.

Three officers from the Herndon Police Department were recognized earlier this month during the 21st annual Awards for Excellence in the Community and Public Safety.

The awards were presented by Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Fairfax Alcohol Safety Action Program. Police officers from 19 area police departments were recognized for their work to educate, prevent and enforce drunk driving laws.

• Corporal Justin Dyer – Dyer has been a member of the HPD for seven years and currently works night shifts. He also serves as one of the department’s identification technicians.

• SPO Christopher Farbry – Farbry has been with the Herndon Police Department for eight years and works night shifts in traffic enforcement.

• PFC Henry Ruffin III – Ruffin has been with HPD for four years and works night shifts.

The awards were presented to the three officers by Chief Maggie DeBoard. Capt. Brad Anzengruber attended the event as well.
