Herndon Police Blotter: Resident's Car Nearly Destroyed by Vandals
Also, several arrests for public drunkenness and assault.
Herndon Police reported this week that a resident's car was nearly destroyed by vandals on Saturday, April 13 in the 600 block of Center Street.
Police took the call just before 3:30 p.m. that the owner of the vehicle discovered that his or her car had been scratched, the taillights broken, and the tires had been slashed.

In addition, an "unknown substance" had been poured over the trunk area of the vehicle.
Police took a report.

The Herndon Police Department reported the other following incidents from April 8 to 14.

CENTER DISTRICT
April 10 - Counterfeit/Fraud
A subject attempted to pass a counterfeit check at a business in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
April 13 - Trespassing
A 37-year-old Fairfax man was arrested for trespassing in the 1200 block of Elden Street.
April 13 - Underage Possession
A 16-year-old Herndon female was issued a summons for underage possessionof alcohol, in the 1000 block of Elden Street.
April 13- DUI
A 40-year-old Herndon man was arrested at the intersection of Herndon Parkway and Campbell Way for driving while intoxicated.
April 13 - Public Drunkenness
A 49-year-old transient was arrested in the 1100 block of Elden Street for being drunk in public.
April 14 - Public Drunkenness
A 48-year-old Herndon man was arrested in the 1200 block of Elden Street for being drunk in public and for disorderly conduct.
April 14 - Warrant Served
A 33-year-old female transient was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Prince William County, while in the 100 block of Herndon Parkway in Herndon.
HALEY SMITH DISTRICT
April 8 - Larceny/Theft
A resident of the 900 block of Reneau Way reported a GPS unit was stolen from his/her home.
April 11 - Public Drunkenness
A 30-year-old Herndon male was arrested for being drunk in public, in the 700 block of Van Buren street.
BRUIN DISTRICT
April 9 - Assault
A 35-year-old Herndon female was arrested for assault in the 600 block of Center Street.
April 13 - Destruction of Property
The top of a victim's convertible was slashed, in the 12000 block of Alton Square.
GOLF COURSE DISTRICT
April 13 - Assault
In the 1200 block of Springtide Place, a victim reported being assaulted by an acquaintance.
RUNNYMEDE DISTRICT
April 8 - Larceny/Assault
A resident of the 900 block of Jorss Place reported several pieces of jewelry stolen from his/her home sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.
April 8 - Public Drunkenness
A 31-year-old male transient was arrested for being drunk in public, in the 600 block of Worchester Place.
April 12 - Assault
A 32-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault in the 800 block of Elden Street.
April 14 - Assault
A 56-year-old Herndon man was arrested for assault in the 100 block of Saber Lane.
April 14 - Destruction of Property
A 28-year-old Sterling man was arrested for destruction of property.
