Herndon PD Offering On Vacation Courtesy House Checks

Town of Herndon residents must apply to have their house checked on at least 14 days prior to their vacation

The Herndon Police Citizens Support Team is helping assist the Herndon Police Department and local residents this summer by offering the "On Vacation Courtesy House Check Program."

Through the program, members of the support team will make periodic checks on homes of Herndon residents while they are away on vacation.

To request the service, town residents need to complete and submit an On Vacation Courtesy House Check application at least 14 days before their vacation dates. Once the request has been approved, a member of the support team will check on the home periodically for up to two weeks.

Applications for the On Vacation Courtesy House Check Program are located on the Town of Herndon's website at www.herndon-va.gov or at the Herndon Police station, located at 397 Herndon Parkway.

For questions or more information on the program, contact the HPD's community resource officer at 703-787-7627 or the Herndon Police Department's Citizen Support Team Office at 703-435-6800, extension 2386.
