Herndon Man Believed to Have Drowned On Delaware River

The 30-year-old Herndon man reportedly fell off his inner tube while attempting to paddle to shore.

Several news outlets are reporting that a Herndon man who was tubing with a group of people on the Delaware River Saturday near the Byram area of Kingwood Township, N.J. has drowned.

NJ.com reports that the man has been identified as 30-year-old Anthony Del Prete of Herndon.

NJ.com said Del Prete was with a group of about 10 people trying to return to shore near Kingwood when he rolled over on the tube to begin paddling and fell out.

Authorities and rescue teams searched the river for most of the weekend before suspending the search Sunday due to dangerously high river conditions and low visibility for divers.
