Herndon Crime Report: Woman Attacked, Held Captive in Her Home

Police have 'a viable suspect.'

Town of Herndon Police are currently investigating a case in which a suspect entered a woman's home, attacked her and held her against her will.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of Friday, June 28.

According to Lt. Jim Moore, a suspect that was known to the woman and possibly lived nearby entered the woman's house. He attacked her and held her against her will inside the home.

Moore said thankfully, the woman was able to escape without being seriously injured and contacted police.

He added, more details cannot be released at this time because police are actively investigating the incident. However, thanks to reports from the victim, he said the department has a "viable suspect," but no one is in custody at this time.
