Herndon Crime Report: Man Assaults Police Officer During Traffic Stop
The man attempted to flee when officers stopped his car.
A man caught driving with a suspended license got into an altercation with officers recently that led to his arrest.
Town of Herndon police reported that on Oct. 29, they conducted a routine traffic stop on a man in the 1500 block of Herndon Parkway.
However, when officers stopped the vehicle, the man attempted to flee on foot, and struck one of the officers in the process.
The man, from Sterling, was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
