Five Things To Know This Week

Five items that may brighten or help you through your week.

1. This week is Arts Week in Herndon with the Council for the Arts of Herndon. Tuesday, Oct. 11 is . Performing will be Sam and Jo Hermann. , where attendees can meet and talk with artists Eric Ricks, Dan Roncevalles, Pat Macintyre, Lassie Corbett and Dan Root while enjoying delicious food at Jimmy’s, O’Sullivan’s and Ice House. Also part of the event is Euro Bistro’s Oktoberfest dinner on Thursday, Oct. 13.

2. MOM’s Organic Market announced it will hold its grand opening weekend on Oct. 28-30. The store will be located in the Herndon Centre (Kmart shopping center) along Elden Street. The store will feature 100 percent organic produce and will operate on wind power.

3. Wednesday is . Stories, singing and activities for 2-3 year olds begins at 11 a.m. Registration if required.

4. The before the season ends. Get your fill of local goods like bread, vegetables, flowers and more.

5. The event will feature laminated child identification cards with photos, thumbprints and vital information. There will also be public safety demonstrations and information, including McGruff the Crime Dog.
