The Herndon Police Department will conduct a DWI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on March 14, 2014 from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. March 15, 2014 to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers. Motorist stopped for suspicion of driving while intoxicated will be checked to assure that their ability to drive has not been impaired by drugs or alcohol. In addition to the checking the sobriety of each driver, their operator’s license will be checked as well to ensure compliance with the law.
The Herndon Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and its roadways. The Department continues its ongoing efforts to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol related collisions. DUI checkpoints are conducted to identify offenders and get them off the street, as well as educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.
