Crime Report: Resident Finds Exploded Plastic Bottle in Mailbox

Town of Herndon Police reported that a resident of the 1000 block of Stanton Park Court got a nasty surprise in his mailbox recently.

On Aug. 31, the resident called police to report finding what appeared to be the remnants of an exploded plastic bottle in his mailbox.

Town of Herndon Police said it's not the first time they've seen such an incident.

"This may be related to a case from March of this year where another mailbox was damaged in a similar fashion," the department said.

Herndon Police said the case has been turned over to the Fairfax County Fire Marshall's Office for investigating.
