Capt. Anzengruber Sworn in as Herndon's Interim Chief of Police

Capt. Brad Anzengruber was sworn in as the town's interim chief on Tuesday, Nov. 15

Herndon Police Capt. Brad Anzengruber was sworn in as the town's interim chief of police on Tuesday, Nov. 15. 

The town's previous chief, Toussaint Summers, Jr., announced his retirement in September. Anzengruber has been with the Herndon Police Department for 32 years and has most recently been serving as the commander of the field operations division. His term begins Friday, Nov. 18. 

Capt. Larry Presgrave has been serving as interim chief since Sept. 27. Presgrave has been with the HPD for 40 years and is the commander of the department's support services division.

The town's deadline for applications for the position of chief of police closed on Oct. 28. Town Manager Art Anselene plans to have a permanent chief appointed by February 2012.
