Break-In Targets a Block Apart in Herndon

Both incidents under investigation by Herndon Police.

Two homes a block apart were targeted by burglars last week, according to a Herndon Police Department release.

Both incidents were Feb. 6. In one case, the burglars failed to get in, but the other report notes items were stolen. The Town of Herndon provides weekly crime reports.

Police responded to a call in the 1200 block of Springtide Place. Two unknown subjects were spotted by the homeowner before they got into the home. They fled when they realized someone was home, but they had damaged the lock during the break-in attempt.

Officers also note they responded to the 1200 block of Summerfield Drive, not far from the first report. A home was broken into and various items were taken from the home. Both cases are under investigation, according to police.
