Bomb Threat Charges Follow Drunkenness Arrest

Man made threats to bomb police department, according to Town of Herndon Police.

A simple arrest for drunkenness escalated to charges of bomb threats and threatening law enforcement, according to Herndon Town Police.

John Hampton Jr., 45, of Herndon, was charged with drunkenness, providing false information to law enforcement, threats towards law enforcement, and threats to bomb. 

Hampton was arrested on the drunkenness charge on April 13, according to police department release.

"After the arrest, the subject began threatening officers and threatened to bomb the Police Department," the release states.

Other crime reports released by Town of Herndon Police on Tuesday:

Robbery – Commercial: 4/10/2014, 400 block Elden St.
An unknown subject entered the business, implied that he had a weapon, and demanded cash. The subject left with an undetermined amount of money. The case is under investigation.

Kidnapping/Abduction: 4/13/2014, 600 block Center St.
A subject prevented his girlfriend from leaving the home and cut her with a sharp object. The victim received non-life threatening injuries to her hand. Adin GARZA, age 32 of Herndon, was charged with Abduction and Malicious Wounding.
