Who Owns your Delegate?

Virginia’s unique no-limit campaign finance system evidently wasn’t loose enough for current governor McDonnell and candidate Cuccinelli who are now trying to un-ring the bell and distance themselves from their distressing lack of ethics.  The follow-up question is “who owns your delegate?”  There are two candidates running to represent you in the General Assembly; Jennifer Boysko the Democrat and Tom Rust the Republican.  Boysko is “owned” by over 1,200 ordinary folks, 90% of whose donations are under $200.  Rust is “owned” by a few dozen developers and corporations such as Dominion Power who want to dismantle environmental regulations and protect their investment in the incumbent.  They think nothing of dropping 4 and 5-figure donations and have provided over 90% of Rust’s funding.  Of course, this is perfectly legal.  Rust voted against energy efficiency rules, against preferences for energy efficient products in State procurement, and he, like Cuccinelli, accepts contributions from companies that do fracking.  Is it any wonder that Boysko is endorsed by environmental groups such as the Sierra Club?  It’s time to elect a delegate who actually represents “People"!
