Washington Post Endorses Delegate Tom Rust

District 86: Few members of the House of Delegates were more persistent, instrumental and influential in pushing for and enacting the transportation-financing legislation than Republican Thomas Davis Rust. As desperately needed revenue starts flowing and putting a dent in Northern Virginia’s traffic over the coming years, Mr. Rust will deserve enormous credit for devoting years to leading on an issue that many in the GOP preferred to ignore. On other issues as well, Mr. Rust, the former mayor of Herndon, has been one of the rare advocates in his caucus for sensible bipartisan cooperation. He deserves reelection over Democratic Party activist Jennifer B. Boysko.
