Community Corner

Support Tom Rust!

To the Editor and to my friends in the 86th District:

I'm not overly political, and typically keep my opinions to myself, but something changed Halloween tonight, and I want to share my thoughts.

I got into my car to drive home from work and on 99.5 there was a radio ad sponsored by Jennifer Boysko and party. It was clearly a Halloween-thought ad saying that Tom Rust wears a "costume" and is basically not the man you think he is. Well B.S.! My backyard has sat behind Tom and his wife Ann's for over 16 years now. He IS the friendly, respectful, caring man that you see in the street and at community events. Tom grew up here and sincerely CARES about our community. For example, Tom has been integral in helping many young students work through college applications, gain employment, and set good examples of how to treat others as human beings.

It is absolutely astonishing to see Jennifer Boysko try to make those who know Tom believe that he has someone changed. I am so disgusted that he is being attacked and spoke of so negatively and dishonestly. Tom (and Ann and Robin and families) do NOT deserve this type of treatment.

I personally will always vote for Tom Rust due to his character and positive impact on our lives and community. I completely trust that Tom acts with the best of intentions for our community, and his positions are nothing less than mainstream.

I don't expect that everyone will agree with all of Tom's positions in total, and that's your right. There is no perfect candidate. However, on the votes that matter, whether on education, transportation, and yes, even healthcare, Tom is there for us.

I do hope you will still consider my view as a neighbor of a man who is running his campaign on issues and integrity and is too much of a gentleman to be as slanderous as his opponent Jennifer Boysko. He's the kind of person I want involved in making decisions that affect our children and community.

Thanks,

Lisa Gray
