Differences

One of the most accurate accounts of the differences between Democrats and Republicans is the metaphor : “When a Democrat climbs the ladder of success, he reaches down to help the next person up.  When a Republican climbs the ladder of success, he pulls the ladder up behind him.” How better to describe Republican reluctance to expand food stamps for children, extend unemployment benefits for long-term unemployed, offer affordable health insurance to the uninsured, or raise the minimum wage to keep pace with inflation?  So which one are you, really?
