Obituary: Mary Ann Cerick, Devoted Member of Herndon Community

Mary Ann Cerick, 74, of Herndon, died Dec. 3, 2013 at Reston Hospital.

Mary Ann was the beloved mother of Debra (Glenn) Maravetz, Mark (Cathy) Fields, Tracy (Roy) Reynolds and Tinkerbell.

She was pre-deceased by one son, Anthony “Tony” Fields. She was the sister of Sue Rogers. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann was very active in the Herndon community and belonged to the Herndon Business Professional Women’s Club, where she served as a past president and was named a past Woman of the Year.

She also was a member of the Herndon Woman’s Club, served on the committee for Dulles Airport, and was a past member of the Herndon Chamber of Commerce and the Herndon Optimist Club. She was a Lady of the Moose and also the American Legion.

Mary Ann was a member of Truro Anglican Church and also the Herndon United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at Herndon United Methodist Church, 701 Bennett St. in Herndon, this Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m., and where funeral services will be held this Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 1 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
