Obituary: James Philip White, Herndon High Grad and Navy Seabees Veteran

White was also a 27-year veteran of the Department of Defense at Ft. Myers.

James "Jimmy" Philip White was born in Dranesville, Va. on Nov. 10, 1921 to Roscoe Temple White and Mary Virginia Riely White. He passed away on Dec. 25, 2013.

He was predeceased by his sister, Edith L. Smith; his brothers, Louis E. 
White and Earl R. White; and his daughter, Betty A. White. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; his two sons, William E. White and J. Richard White; his grandson, Dagan M. White; his great-granddaughter, Emmerson A. White; and his two sisters, Katherine L. Jarboe and Marian V. Campbell.

White was a graduate of Herndon High School's class of 1939. He served in the Navy Seabees from 1942 to 1945, then worked for the Department of Defense 
at Ft. Myers, Va. for 27 years.

White moved from Herndon, Va. to Fairfax, S.C. in 1982.

Funeral services will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon at 11 a.m. this Thursday, Jan 2 at Memorial Park in Falls Church. Immediately following, a reception will be held at Dranesville Church of the Brethren.
