“The Clean House” by Sarah Ruhl Opens in Herndon, Sweeps Audiences into Theatre’s 25th Anniversary Season

(Herndon, VA) Elden Street Players celebrated the opening of its 25th Anniversary Season on October 19 at The Industrial Strength Theatre in Herndon with “The Clean House” by Sarah Ruhl.

Directed by Susan Devine (WATCH Award-winning Director: Chicago) and produced by Richard J. Klare, Jr., performances continue through November 10th. 

Ruhl’s wryly funny comedy features a cast including Jackie Davis as Matilde, a Portuguese speaking live-in-maid to Lane, a successful doctor played by Karen Jadlos Shotts (WATCH Best Actress Awards: Hedda Gabler, The Miracle Worker). Lane’s sister Virginia, played by Lorraine Magee (WATCH Best Actress Award, W;t) adores cleaning—and meddling. The sisters and maid are joined in the cast by Donna Naybor as Anna and M.R. Turner as Charles. 

Other members of the artistic team include: Set Designer Bob Bell, Sound Designer Anna Hawkins, Scenic Painter Maggie Modig (WATCH Award: Present Laughter), Lighting Designer Ian Clear, and Costume Design by Melissa Jo York Tilley. Rounding out the production team are Colleen Stock, Cherie Young-Hickman, Stefan Sittig, and Mike Smith. 

“The Clean House” runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm through Nov 10th, plus Thursday Nov 8th at 8pm, Sunday Oct 28th at 3pm, and Sunday Nov 3th at 7pm.
