Town of Herndon 4th of July Celebration

The Town of Herndon's July 4 Celebration is set to feature fireworks, activities and lots of free fun.

Join the Town of Herndon Friday, July 4 at Bready Park for a family-fun event featuring games, patriotic arts & craft activities, bingo, food face painting, balloon artists and more.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with face painting, balloon sculpturing, bingo and crafts all for free. Festival foods including hot dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes and ice cream will be available for sale. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages patrons to bring their own water bottles for free refills from the giant 125 gallon 'Water Monster.'

Get up and dance to live music by The Plaids at 7:15 p.m. until the fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m. The Parks and Recreation Department recommends bringing a blanket or lawn chair and notes that alcohol, glass containers, pets and personal fireworks are prohibited.

Motorists should expect detours and alteration of traffic routes throughout town at the conclusion of the fireworks display at Bready Park for up to 60 minutes. A full listing of traffic adjustments is available at the event website.

Parking is available at Herndon Middle School, Herndon Centennial Golf course, and Herndon Community Center. Cars parked in the Herndon Community Center parking lot will not be released until 30-45 minutes after the fireworks show concludes or until the Fire Marshal declares the area safe.
