Rehearsals Underway for Christmas Concert

Walk by the ArtSpace Herndon building on a Monday night and you’re likely to hear the sounds of Christmas wafting through the doors. Inside, the Herndon Towne Square Singers are hard at work getting ready for their upcoming Christmas concert, which will feature some of your favorite holiday music from TV and the movies.

“You’re as cuddly as a cactus, you’re as charming as an eel, Mr. Gri-i-inch!” …” Director “C” Culpepper grimaces and signals the group to a stop. “Well,” she drawls, “that was interesting. Let’s go over parts.”

A few minutes later, notes worked out, we’re back on track. Then it’s on to “White Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Little Drummer Boy,” and “White Christmas.”

Looking ahead, the Herndon Towne Square Singers will sing their “Lights, Camera, Action” Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at ArtSpace Herndon, 750 Center Street in Herndon. This is a new venue for us, and with a max seating capacity of only 72, we’re expecting sell-out crowds. So you might want to get your tickets early.

Purchase tickets for “Lights, Camera, Christmas” at the Herndon Community Center on Ferndale Avenue, or by phone at (703) 787-7300. Unsold tickets, if any, will be available at the door on the day of the performance. The price is $12.
