Let Us Entertain You

Christmas is right around the corner and so, too, are all the holiday parties, concerts and other events you don’t want to miss. Is the Herndon Towne Square Singers Christmas Concert on your list of must-do activities? If not, it should be.

Our upcoming “Lights, Camera, Christmas” concert features some of your favorite holiday music from TV and the movies. So treat yourself to an evening or afternoon of fun as you listen—and maybe even sing along with—“White Christmas,” Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “I’ve Got my Love to Keep Me Warm,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Grinch,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” and more.

These days we number about 25 strong, with our members coming primarily from Fairfax and Loudoun counties. Many have been with the group for years. Taking the prize for longevity is Leesburg’s Nancy Lombardi, who has been with the Singers since its inception. Others are not far behind.

Herndon’s Debbie Swartz joined the group in the spring of 1985. “I love singing the variety of music we do,” she explains when asked about her lengthy commitment to the group, “and the friendships I’ve made over the years.”

Harlon Reece, also of Herndon, is a crowd-pleasing tenor soloist and former Singers’ director. “One of the things I’ve found over the years,” he says, “is that people who sing together for any length of time kind of become like a family.”

He’s got that right! We are like family—and our family would really like to entertain your family during the holiday season. Won’t you join us?

“Light, Camera, Christmas” will be performed at ArtSpace Herndon, 750 Center Street in Herndon on Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. This is a new venue for the Singers and seating capacity is limited to 72 seats, so sell-out crowds are expected.

Plan to buy your tickets early at the Herndon Community Center on Ferndale Avenue in Herndon, or by calling (703) 787-7300. Unsold tickets, if any, will be available at the door on the day of the performance. The price is $12.
