Calling all volunteers, teens and up! Herndon Festival in 20 days!

Volunteering is the heart of Herndon and there are several fun and easy volunteering opportunities, for teens through adults, coming up in the next few weeks - I invite you to get involved and donate a few hours!  Every year my daughter and I volunteer at the Herndon Festival and I spend many a Friday night pouring beer or checking IDs.  Make new friends, learn a skill, complete school requirements and have a great time at these events:

* Herndon Festival - Hands On Art Area on Saturday June 1 (volunteers, ages 12 and up are needed from 10 am - 5 pm) and Sunday June 2 (volunteers needed from 11 am - 4 pm) - help younger children make free arts & craft activities!  Join the Council for the Arts of Herndon under the big tent at Kids Alley, the corner of Lynn and Station street! * Herndon Festival - Gate Marshalls, Race Course, and more!  The Herndon Festival operates with hundreds of volunteers, ages 16+, every day from Thursday May 30 through Sunday June 1.  You can sign up on the website: http://www.herndonfestival.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11&Itemid=11 

Groups are especially encouraged to sign up and there are a limited number of free volunteer T shirts!

* Friday Night Live! - every Friday night on the Herndon Town Green, 6:30 - 9 pm.  Volunteers needed to gate marshall, check IDs, drink concessions, set up and take down.  Must be 21+.  Visit their website to sign up: http://herndonrocks.com/volunteer.php
