Reston Quilt Guild's Quilt Auction

On April 12 at 7:30 p.m., the Reston Quilt Guild will conduct it's biennial Quilt Auction at the Armstrong Elementary School, at 11900 Lake Newport Road, Reston. Admission is free and there will be free refreshments during the auction preview which starts at 6:30 pm. The live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Auction items will include a private tour of the Library of Congress for the bid winner and three friends, a weekend stay at a private home on Deep Creek Lake and four hours of fishing with Phil on Lake Ann. And there will be wonderful handmade quilts for adults and children and kids going off to college. For the quilter, there are yards of high quality fabric to get you going on your next project with patterns and books and quilting rules and gizmos.

Part of the mission of Quilters Unlimited is to further the interest in the American Art of quilting. Proceeds from this auction help Reston QU give free quilting lessons to members of the community and to bring in nationally acclaimed quilters for lectures and workshops, also open to the public. Over the past five years, Reston QU members have made and donated over 1000 quilts for children in local hospitals. Money raised at our auction is also used for the materials to make and send quilts to Afghanistan for the care-givers of our wounded soldiers.
