What Are Eating Disorders? NEDA Awareness Week Event

Epiphany Episcopal Church, in coordination with the National Eating Disorders Association, will be hosting a program on Eating Disorder Awareness as part of Eating Disorders Awareness Week. This event is Free and open to the public.

The Goal of Eating Disorders Awareness Week is to promote public and media attention to the seriousness of eating disorders and improve education about the biological underpinnings, environmental triggers, warning signs and how to help those struggling. Education and direction to resources can lead to earlier detection, intervention, and help-seeking, ultimately improving the likelihood of full recovery.

Laura Otten, RN, member of Epiphany Episcopal Church's Pathways Ministry, and Sydney Graver, Herndon resident majoring in psychology at Longwood University, will present. Sydney has been personally affected by an eating disorder and is now in strong recovery
