Voce presents Brahms' Requiem

The concluding concert of Voce’s 25th year opens with our
most recent commission, Matthew Harris’ “i love you much”. The remainder of the
concert will be Brahms’ masterwork, Ein deutsches Requiem, a work usually
associated with large choirs and full orchestras. Brahms wrote a very fine
four-hand piano accompaniment for his Requiem as a much smaller-scaled
conception, for use in a house concert. It is our honor to present this work,
not often heard as chamber music, focused on the intimate beauty of choral
voices singing words of comfort and hope for the living.
