John Rutter's Requiem

Perhaps Rutter's most beautiful composition, the Requiem combines elements from the Latin Mass for the Dead with psalm texts and liturgy from the English Book of Common Prayer.  Written in memory of his father, this seven-movement work is accompanied by harp, oboe, cello, flute, organ, and percussion.  Sung by the HUMC Wesley Choir and soloists.  Free concert, free childcare provided.  Hosted by the HUMC Concert Series.

Join us for a potluck dinner at 5:30 pm in Doe Fellowship Hall followed by a brief presentation on the meaning of “Requiem” by Pastor Gary Robbins at 6:15pm.
